Central 10th Anniversary Flower Extravaganza is once again held to celebrate the decade-long existence of Central Department Store in Jakarta, Indonesia. Various events will follow in the department store to make a merrier and more exhilarating shopping experience. This celebration will last for one whole month, from 22 November to 22 December 2024, and it will involve the cultural collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand.
Here are the various exciting programs visitors can experience in the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Central Department Store.
CULTURAL MIX
Displaying a collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand’s cultures, two countries that are joined under the ASEAN banner, Central Department Store presents several arts from both countries. Starting with an Indonesian dance performance and Thai martial arts/contact sports muay thai, the celebration will also show a unique mix of Betawi costumes and the Thai Royal Family’s flowers in visual forms. This was done to celebrate and strengthen the 75-year diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Thailand.
JIRAYUT’S PARTICIPATION
To further brighten up the atmosphere, Central Department Store has invited the participation of singer Jirayut as Thailand’s musical ambassador who has made a name for himself in Indonesia. Jirayut’s involvement in the 10th Anniversary of Central Department Store is also meant to highlight the success of the Thailand-born artist in Jakarta. As a Thai national who has embraced the Indonesian language and culture, Jirayut’s involvement hopefully will make Central Department Store’s customers to appreciate the department store’s existence further.
FLOWER EXTRAVAGANZA
“Flower Extravaganza” returns to Central Department Store for Central’s 10th Anniversary. Last seen in 2019, a wide array of real, fresh flowers will decorate the four floors within the department store in East Mall, Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. The combination of Indonesian and Thai culture is still present in this floral exhibition. Flower Extravaganza is a hallmark of every Central Anniversary, even in Thailand, Flower Extravaganza has graced every Anniversary for more than 20 years.
Starting at the Ground Floor, pink and green flowers dominate the floors to shape flowing water sources from three corners that go into one whirlpool point. The Ladies’ area on the Upper Ground Floor displays brighter flowers, mixing Orchids, Roses, and Proteas. These followers will form the shape of a pile of stones and decorate a gave made out of rattan weaves, a symbol of Indonesian craftsmanship. On the First Floor, the Men’s Area of Central Department Store, the flowers are bold and surrounded by verdure, making the floor’s decoration highly Instragrammable. The last floor, the Second Floor in special areas for Kids and Home, displays a sweeter, more amusing decor. Leaves and beetles take the center point of the floor’s decorations with a more vibrant floral touch. These fresh flower arrangements will be available in the period of 28 November-2 December 2024.
TENANT CELEBRATION
The tenants inside Central Department Store will never miss out on celebrating Central 10th Anniversary in their ways. First, the textile brand MIWA Pattern is launching a special pattern for Central. Then, Milou Farm House is serving 10 special menus, a mixture of Indonesian and Thai cuisine, for the anniversary special. After that, Lewis & Carroll is presenting its own special food menu for the anniversary. Furthermore, it’s not only the F&B tenants who are participating, but also a plethora of other brands from Central Department Store hold special activities during the anniversary program, such as ISAGO, Samara, Chief, Mario Minardi, Nona Rara, Corenation, and other exciting events from other brands.
